Hundreds of mourners waited in line Wednesday afternoon at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel to pay their respects to Chicago police Officer Ella French, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Aug. 7. French’s partner, Officer Carlos Yanez Jr., was shot in the eye, brain and shoulder, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser organized by family.
