DENVER, CO – A private security guard has been arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder stemming from a fatal shooting in Denver during dueling protests.
It has been reported that he was not properly licensed to carry or work in the position.
The suspect, Matthew Robert Dolloff, 30, was reportedly working as a contracted security guard through the company Pinkerton for 9News. According to 9News, it has become normal practice for the last several months to contract private security to accompany staff at protests.

9News later reported that it recently found out that Dolloff was not actually employed by Pinkerton. Pinkerton would not share the name of the company for which Dolloff did work for.
According to Eric Escudero, marketing and communications manager for the city’s Department of Exicse and Licenses, there is “no record” that Dolloff had a license required by the city to work as a security guard and no evidence that he had one in the past. City law defines a security guard as:
“A person employed or engaged by a private security employer to perform security services.”
Dolloff was arrested and taken into custody moments after a single gunshot rang out on the plaza between the Denver Art Museum and the city’s main library. The shooting left one man dead.
Allegedly, a man was participating in what was considered a “Patriot Rally” when he slapped and sprayed chemical agent at a man who appeared to be Dolloff, based on photographs taken from the scene.

Reportedly, Dolloff then drew a gun from his waistband and shot the other person. A Denver Post journalist claims to have witnessed the episode.
The man who was fatally shot by Dolloff has been identified by family members as Lee Keltner, a military veteran, grandfather, and avowed patriot who was at the rally to express his support for the police.
Lee’s mother wrote to the Patriot group:
“My son Lee was at the patriot rally today in Denver. After the rally a person on the BLM and Antifa side went up to him and said a few nasty words then shot him in the head.
“He was murdered because he backed the police.”
Reportedly, investigators have concluded that Dolloff was acting as a security guard at the time of the incident.
A tweet from the Denver Police Department said in part:
“Further investigation has revealed that, at the time of the shooting, the suspect was acting in a professional capacity as an armed security guard for a local media outlet and not a protest participant.”
If you two @KamalaHarris
And @JoeBiden were really about law and order, where is your outrage here? Oh yeah….its not riot worthy so it doesn’t matter.Suspect in Denver shooting not a licensed security guard: report https://t.co/tFhM2k8NGT #FoxNews

Escudero said that if convicted, Dolloff could face a fine of up to $999 and a year in jail for violating city law about security licensing. Additionally, the company that does employ him could also face ramifications under the law.
City ordinance requires such companies to make sure all of its security guards are licensed.
It is still unclear who Dolloff works for.
In a statement, Pinkerton officials said:
“We are in the process of still gathering information to better understand the incident that occurred in Denver on October 10th involving a contractor agent. The agent in question is not a Pinkerton employee. Pinkerton is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities in their investigation of this matter.”

Ryan Luby, Spokesperson for the Denver City Attorney’s Office said in a statement:
“We will weigh any additional criminal charges related to the defendant possibly operating as an unlicensed security guard once the Denver Police Department completes its homicide investigation.”
He added:
“The CAO is also working with the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses to weigh disciplinary action against the security guard company for hiring and deploying an unlicensed guard, one without a license, much less an armed endorsement.”

In the coming days, Denver prosecutors will decide whether Dolloff will be charged with a crime.
BROWNSBURG, IN – An armed citizen reportedly is being heralded as a “good Samaritan” after taking down an alleged assailant who shot and killed one person and was on their way to shoot other innocent people on July 14th at a cemetery in Brownsburg.

Police say that 22-year-old Joshua Christopher Hayes attacked two men who were working at the Brownsburg Cemetery at around 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon on July 14th.
Reportedly, without any provocation, authorities said that Hayes began running after 36-year-old cemetery worker Seth Robertson, and eventually shot and killed him.
From there, Hayes allegedly turned his sights onto the second worker whom Robertson was with, and reportedly started opening fire. Apparently, a stray bullet fired by Hayes wound up striking this unidentified “good Samaritan” while he was sitting at a red light near the intersection where the second victim was being chased.
After being injured by the bullet that went into his car, the man exited his vehicle and shot Hayes fatally.
Brownsburg Police Captain Jennifer Barrett praised the bravery and quick acting by whom she referred to as “victim three”:
“This tragic event could have been much more disastrous. Victim three not only saved victim two’s life, but he saved potentially the lives of many others. Victim three did exactly what anybody would have wanted him to do at that scene that day.”
Attorney Guy Relford, who was representing the “good Samaritan” during the investigation, noted that police were quick to acknowledge the shoot was completely justified:
“The scenario was fairly clear to him in that one person was chasing another and the other was saying, ‘no, no, no, no, please don’t shoot me… They very quickly, the BPD did, determined my client acted completely lawfully and he was justified under Indiana law.”
Police are not completely sure as to what led Hayes to attack the employees that day, but feel as though his mental health may have been a possible influence at the time. Authorities have also not released the name of this “good Samaritan”, nor the second victim involved at this time.
If it weren’t for that armed citizen, who knows who else could have been hurt or killed? Luckily, the state of Indiana is pretty friendly when it relates to the Second Amendment.
Furthermore, prospective gun owners and Second Amendment advocates based out of Indiana have something to be happy about as of July 1st, and that is that fees associated with obtaining handgun licenses have been quashed.

The five-year “Unlimited License” is now available to Indiana residents without cost as a means to afford citizens within the state a means to exercise their Second Amendment right without unnecessary financial burdens.
Republican state Rep. Jim Lucas was said to have introduced the bill, which the legislation was also co-authored by Republican state Rep. Ben Smaltz.
According to Smaltz:
“Removing financial barriers to someone being able to exercise their Second Amendment right is very important.”
There’s more to the law than just the removal of fees though, which these additional aspects also behoove gun owners within Indiana.
One portion of the law affords citizens who use their weapon in a justifiable self-defense scenario will be granted “civil immunity” – meaning that if nothing criminal occurred then no civil damages can be levied either.

Another element within the legislation is said to allow churches to decide whether or not to allow their congregants to be armed while attending services, instead of just employing a statewide ban on carrying inside of religious establishments.
All in all, it makes for a great win on the side of the Second Amendment and those looking to exercise their rights.
