Back when their practice happened, there were not yet any major business closures in Washington, and the only official guidance from the government limited public gatherings to 250 or fewer. In response to the initial news of outbreaks in the state, the choir asked those who were sick not to come, offered hand sanitizer at the door, and refrained from touching each other. In all, about 60 people showed up to the rehearsal in Mount Vernon.
