A Chicago police officer was shot Wednesday night on the South Side, officials said.
The officer was wounded in the 4th District on the city’s Southeast Side, according to Chicago police spokesman Tom Ahern.
The male officer was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, Ahern said. His condition was unknown.
Authorities have not released additional details.
