The Broncos’ road game scheduled to be played Sunday at New England has been postponed to Monday due to positive coronavirus tests within the Patriots organization, a source said Thursday.
Denver’s Week 5 game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, originally scheduled for 2:25 p.m. MT, will now take place Monday. A kickoff time has not been announced.
After Patriots quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for coronavirus last week, the NFL delayed New England’s game at Kansas City by one day, and the teams played on Monday night at Arrowhead Stadium. Patriots all-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore tested positive on Wednesday, a day after practice squad defensive lineman Bill Murray was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
New England canceled practice Wednesday and Thursday due to the positive tests.
The Broncos have practiced Tuesday-Thursday as scheduled. They have had only one positive COVID-19 test since reporting to training camp — fullback/tight end Andrew Beck on July 30.
A coronavirus outbreak within the Titans’ organization, in which Tennessee has had 23 positive tests for COVID-19 since Sept. 24, has also put the Titans-Bills Week 5 game in doubt.
