Every spring, Nola and Gary Prevost of Nola’s Iris Garden invite the public to come roam the hillsides covered in blooms — thousands of flowers representing 2,500 varieties over the 5-acre sanctuary near their nursery.

From now through May, garden lovers, artists, photographers (and dogs on leash) are welcome to visit on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and social distancing is requested on the trails.

The early blooms are beautiful, but the best is yet to come, Nola Prevost predicted Monday: “The next three weeks are probably going to be the most awesome.”

Find the nursery and gardens at 4195 Sierra Road, San Jose; details at their website, www.walking-p-bar.com.
