1 in custody after Chicago police officer shot in Lincoln

A person was arrested after a Chicago police officer was shot Monday in Lincoln Park on the North Side.

The shooting happened about 3:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of West North Avenue, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

The officer who was shot was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Langford said. His condition was not immediately known.

Chicago police said the suspected gunman was taken into custody but didn’t immediately release details on the circumstances of the shooting.
