Purchased this generator for our food truck. This has been one of the best purchases we have made. In 2-1/2 years of hard constant use, this generator just keeps going. Rarely does it ever take more than one pull to start it. It has never let us down and left us hanging. We have never put even one drop of ethanol fuel in this unit, and I truly believe that it why it has been operating so well. Always use real gasoline, check/change the oil regularly. Any low oil level will keep the unit from running. Also, if we were going to let it sit unused for any length of time, we would run the generator until the fuel ran dry; and let it store with no fuel in the tank or carb. I wish everything on this food truck ran so reliably!Champion Power Equipment 46596 3500 Watt RV Ready Portable Generator (Not for sale in CA)

I ran the new gen for an hour to break it in. Then hooked it to my 24 foot 1986 Yellowstone camper. I turned on the AC 15k to high, the big fridge, my mini fridge, the power inverter with everything going. It didn’t change the idle at all just kept on running like nothing was going on. To run that many things at once and have no problems really says a lot about this product. Have a video of fresh cold start in freezing temp. UPDATE! I have had this Generator in my truck all summer I pulled it out for storage over the winter and found a major gas leak had happened. I lost half a tank of fuel from the pit-cock leaking gas around the tank. The Nut had come lose from the tank. Something to keep an eye on.

I recently purchased this to use while the camper is in storage, this allows me to work and do maintenance on it. I plugged in the very first time, it started up on the 3rd pull, and to my surprise was actually very quiet, not as quiet as the $1000 Honda’s, but for the money, quiet. I parked my truck beside the camper, and till I walked around the camper, I could barely hear it running. Inside, with the windows closed, a small amount of humming could be heard, and with the AC on, you couldn’t hear it at all. I opened the windows, and here again, humming could be heard but it wasn’t something you’d keep thinking about bc it would just bc white noise after a certain point and you wouldn’t realize it was even there.I ran it a total of 5 hours so far, and will come back and update after our first boon docking trip with it. I have a 24ft travel trailer, and will be using 2 TV’s, and a few electronics will be charged from it. everything else runs off propane. The big part I love, is if we need to run the AC, it’ll definitely do the job ! If I needed to run the microwave, it could handle it, but so as not to have a major power draw, I’d shut the AC long enough to use the microwave, then turn the AC back on. And to make note, something I wasn’t aware of, this genny does not have the ECO setting on it, which I though it did. But based on the fact it’s for the RV, I feel the designers knew what they were doing , and it didn’t need an eco mode!! Just my opinion!

As we are getting ourselves prepared for Hurricane Florence here in North Carolina, I remind myself how important it was to purchase this Champion generator. We suffered through Hurricane Matthew without a generator and it was AWFUL! The nights were so long, dark, and boring. It was scary watching the battery on our phones dwindling with no way to charge them. Needless to say, we were NOT prepared at all for that storm or to be without power for several days. This generator will be a godsend if we do happen to lose power with Hurricane Florence. It was so incredibly easy to get started. I bought the optional wheel kit which I would strongly recommend. The generator is heavy and awkward to tote around without the wheels. After adding the oil and gas, the generator started right up after only 2 pulls! So far, we have hooked up our fridge, small A/C window unit, phone chargers, lamp, coffee maker, and a few other small things with no problems whatsoever. This 3500 watt generator has MORE than enough power for our needs and will get plenty of use. It will even come in handy when working on my mom’s gigantic yard, too! We won’t have to worry about plugging in endless extension cords to reach the back. High quality product, easy to use even for beginners, and not incredibly loud. It’s no louder than a riding lawnmower and not at all bothersome when inside. I would strongly recommend buying one to keep on hand for power outages!! (I have been telling all of my friends & family members to buy a Champion generator to be prepared for whatever storms may come our way!)

An excellent generator for the money. I tested this on my 33 foot travel trailer and it lived up to the rating firing up the A/C and running the microwave and TV. I priced generators at Harbor Freight and the big box hardware stores and the price on this one could not be beat at less than $300. A word of advice, buy the wheel kit as this is a pretty good load to lug around even being one of the smaller and lighter generators. It is actually not obtrusively loud for what generators generally are. My buddy bought one at one at Tractor Supply (and spend a bit more than Amazon) and he is happy with his. Longevity? Only time will tell. The generator cranks up really easily so that’s a big plus!!Update 3 years later. This generator still works like a champ (ion) although I had to buy a new carburetor ($15) due to the original being gummed up from ethanol fuel. Thought I had ran it dry each use, but maybe I forgot one time. It was an easy fix and I was back up and running. This time I drained the fuel tank and will do so after each use if it’s going to sit a while.

This generator was delivered on time. It starts much more easily and run more quietly than expected. It works great.

Good product. Only complaint is that they left it outside. I wasn’t home and was lucky it was still here when I got home.
