Teen Smacks Officer’s Head with Bat, Gets Slap on the
Wrist 1

SEATTLE, WA: Not only is Jacob Greenburg a 19-year-old who claims to hate police, but he allegedly smacked an officer in the head with an aluminum baseball bat.  Greenburg’s violent act occurred during the “Every Night Direct Demonstrations” in Seattle last weekend. The targeted officer was not injured but the blow cracked his helmet. The Seattle Independent Sentinel reported that the blow would have resulted in a critical injury, had the officer not had on his helmet. Greenburg, whose Facebook page features anti-police statements and dumpsters ablaze, admitted he set those fires. He appears to be a Black Lives Matter Bloc Antifa, as well. He may also be a suspect for the September 1 fiery attack on the East Precinct Police Headquarters, where officers were known to be inside.

Greenburg, despite the evidence, allegations, and strong suspicions, is out on $20,000 bail. Prosecutors had asked a judge to set Greenburg’s bail at $350,000 but the judge demurred. County prosecutors, in Greenburg’s case, made every effort to hold Greenburg fully accountable for his actions. The prosecutors stated that their goal for real accountability came down to the judge’s discretion. Greenburg will appear in court again at a later date.

Greenburg is the stepson of former Washington State Legislator Laura Ruderman (D). She told the court during Greenburg’s appearance Monday that he was a good young man who made straight A’s, and she reminded the court of her past legislative position. According to the same report from Seattle’s KOMO News, Greenburg’s lawyer stated Greenburg’s arrest was a case of mistaken identity. Apparently, Greenburg and many other rioters were dressed in dark pants and dark hoodies. The attorney said it could have been any of them wielding the aluminum bat, but it wasn’t his young client. The video of the assault may still be available through the Independent Sentinel, http://www.independentsentinel.com/suspect-who-hit-an-officer-in-the-head-with-a-metal-bat-is-son-of-former-state-rep/. And there’s more.

Far to the east of Seattle, BLM protestors in Kalamazoo, MI gathered with signs calling for unity and accountability in, and on the heels of, protests.  A September 13 report on MLive stated the protestors’ demand stemmed from a Proud Boys protest in mid-August. Some of the Proud Boys protestors got into it with counter-protestors. It was representatives of the latter group who called out local law enforcement for unity and accountability. They also “took issue with remarks police made about how they handled [that]violent incident.” The police spokespeople had alleged that the counter-protestors instigated the violence with the Proud Boys on August 15. To those calling for accountability, the police department’s explanation of that aggression was merely an attempt to placate them. A more detailed account of the clash between protestors did show what happened.

An August 29 report in The Washington Post stated that recent deaths during, or related to, protests, were not perpetrated by protestors. Instead, the protests, riots, and other acts of violence have been “cover” for murderous assaults. In more than two dozen cases, the extreme, even deadly, violence had little, if anything, to do with those gatherings. In at least one case, the shooter admittedly committed “domestic terrorism” as part of his ultra-right group’s attempt to foment another American Civil War

Jacob Greenburg used his own playbook that he seemed to derive from  BLM protests and the anti-police sentiment in this country. Another alleged young killer, Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, in Kenosha, WI, had nothing to do with the recent melee there. Under that cover, he allegedly murdered two people and fatally injured another. Was he a counter-protestor, or a self-declared militia member?

Greenburg, 19, and Rittenhouse, 17, are just two among an unknown number responsible for murders and violent assaults during recent protestors. Regardless of who is assaulted or shot by whom, law enforcement across the country want accountability, perhaps more than any other group. Meanwhile, in Seattle, 14,000 complaints against the police are on file. Also in Seattle, Greenburg being sent home with a $20,000 bond, instead of the justifiable $350,000 bond, just makes for more Facebook posturing.
