SWAT Leader Killed, 3 Officers Injured in Texas

Sergeant Josh Bartlett—the leader of the Special Weapons and Tactics team of the County Sheriff’s Office of Lubbock, Texas—was killed during a standoff in Levelland, Texas on Thursday afternoon.

Three other police officers were wounded as a suspect barricaded themselves in a town block, according to KCBD. One of the wounded officers was confirmed as a Levelland Police Officer. Two of the wounded are in critical condition.

The block contains a tire shop and a Mexican butcher shop, according to Google Maps. Local residents have been advised to avoid the area as police address the incident.
