You’re not dreaming: a pillow party is in your very near future. On Sewing Down South‘s second anniversary, Southern Charm star Craig Conover announced his business will officially be opening a flagship store on King Street in Charleston, SC. So if you’ve ever wanted to pick up a pretty pillow in person, your chance is coming.
And that’s not all the Sewing Down South store will have. The shop will feature not only popular items currently available on the website, but also brand new collections on the way, including SDS’s collaboration with Thomasville, and even a new candle collection. Plus, there will also be an embroidery station in the store, sponsored by Bernina, as well as new items for the home, as Craig recently teased during the Bravo show’s reunion that he was planning to sell kitchenware.
The flagship store is set to open in Charleston in early May at 493 King Street, one of the busiest and most historic locations in the city. “This is the next step in our journey that I’ve always dreamt about,” Craig said via press release. “It feels like another way to share Sewing Down South with everyone that has supported us from the start. Pillow parties were a fun & new way to connect with our supporters, and this creates that everyday here in Charleston. We’re excited to be an official retailer and part of historic King Street. We plan to be an example of a new age interactive retail experience, and have lots of interesting activations planned for the store with some of our tech partners. I’m looking forward to helping shoppers find the perfect pillow, and help them customize their selections in the store. I plan on providing live demonstrations and personally help shoppers embroider their Sewing Down South items. I can’t wait to see y’all in OUR STORE!”
The press release also states that, “The launch of the new Sewing Down South by Craig Conover Candle Collection will also be carried first in the store and feature scents crafted by Craig that include: Southern Summer, Cobblestone Romance, A Walk on the Battery.” So you can visit the store in Charleston, and then when you go back home, light a scent that reminds you of your time in Charleston: brilliant!
Some of the new items available in the store are said to be a “curated experience of patterns and colors pulled from the inspiration of living in Charleston, and frequenting the Bahamas.”
And for those who have yet to visit King Street in Charleston, it’s also where several of Leva Bonaparte’s restaurants are located (where Craig is a partner) and where the cast of Southern Charm also hangs out. In other words, it won’t be surprising if we see the store featured on a potential Season 8 of the series, though no official announcement has been made yet. Either way, go ahead and add this store to your itinerary next time you visit the Southern city, and when you stop in, be sure to tell Craig we say hi!
