KANSAS CITY, MO- The president of the Kansas City Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is speaking out after receiving threats from a protestor. The protestor claimed to know the address of his family and the school his children attend.
FOP President Brad Lemon was confronted by protestors in front of police headquarters on Friday night, but this protestor was different. This was an organized info campaign to get Kansas City Police Chief Rick Smith fired. One of the leaders of the movement, Stacy Shaw, made statements that cross the threshold into threats.
In the video taken by Lemon, Shaw can be seen yelling into a megaphone saying:
“We are going to start sharing things with your children’s teachers! You don’t think we have extensive researchers? You don’t think that we know where all of y’all live? You don’t think we don’t know where your children go to school?”
Shaw continued:
“I don’t need any sort of weapon. What we’re going to start doing is we’re going to start using your character against you. You will have no one. No one that loves you after we get done with this next campaign.”
Lemon spoke to KMBC News about Shaw’s words. The FOP president expressed contempt at her words and stated that making threats about the families of police officers is “off limits”:
“What doesn’t need to happen though when they put on their uniform and they go to work is that they have to worry about their spouse and they have to worry about their children. That’s off limits.”
Lemon also posted the video of Shaw’s unhinged rant to the Facebook page for the Kansas City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge. The FOP captioned the post with:
“We are aware of the video of Attorney Stacy Shaw threatening our members and their families. Our Lodge has begun work with city and state leadership.
As always we urge our membership to remain calm and act as we have been trained to do. We should always be aware of our surroundings and potential threats. Yes, Shaw’s threats serve to raise that threat level. We must remember that while a small number of people may be violent and threatening our families, the majority of this city supports you.
We do this job and have an understanding of the danger that accompanies our oath. Our families do not deserve what Shaw is threatening.”

KCTV5 News was able to speak with Shaw about the video on Sunday night at a protest camp. Shaw expressed no remorse for her words and even doubled down on them claiming:
“Having an information campaign is not a threat.”
Shaw went on to argue that she doesn’t intend to use the information to harm the officers:
“We have that information. We’ve never used it against them. We have discouraged doxing, specifically discouraged doxing. When people wanted L.A. style justice, they were organizers like myself and other people out there in this town that said absolutely not, we want all of their officers to go home to their babies.”
Instead of engaging in doxing, the attorney plans to reach out to the families and friends of police officers to explain why the officers should be help accountable.
KCTV5 News told Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas the reasoning behind Shaw’s actions and asked for his opinion. Lucas made his disdain for Shaw’s methods clear saying:
“That is one of the biggest bull crap statements I’ve ever heard in my entire life. You do not say I’m going to threaten your spouse and your children simply because you want them to understand the nature of someone’s job. That’s ridiculous and preposterous. Her statements were uncalled for and she knows better. She’s a lawyer, a member of the bar. We are trained not to make statements like that.”
Lemon’s reaction to Shaw’s statement was remarkable similar. He told KCTV5 News:
“That’s bull crap. You watched the video, everybody else watched that video. We didn’t edit the video. There were no cuts in that video. She said what she said and she’s trying to backtrack it now. The reality is she has threatened the families of police officers.”
Then, as if that wasn’t enough, Shaw held a press conference on Monday to say that she will not discourage violence at protests:
“I will be praying for the safety of the officers families because as much as I’ve done for them, as much as I have influence the community to only protest non-violently, it is not my place to tell people how to protest.”
It is clear that Shaw, much like other protestors, has no regard for the safety of law enforcement officers.

PORTLAND, OR- Protestors gathered in Portland on Sunday night to protest Columbus Day, a US holiday that fell on Monday. The protestors quickly turned violent and destructive causing Portland Police to declare the gathering a riot.
Several riots occurred across the country on what protestors dubbed the “Indigenous Peoples’ Day of Rage.” The rioters were enraged by the celebration of Christopher Columbus who, according to them, contributed to Native American genocide.
In Portland near 300 protestors gathered downtown at 8:00PM then attempted to destroy and tear down statues. The rioters used chains to tear down statutes of Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Red paint was thrown on the Roosevelt monument and a blowtorch was used in an attempt to destroy the statue’s base.
Portland Police reported on the protest as it was developing in a Twitter thread:
“A mass gathering has formed at Southwest Park Avenue and Southwest Madison Street, where some are trying to pull down a statue with a chain. To those taking part: anyone involved in criminal behavior, including vandalism, is subject to arrest or citation.”
The thread continued:
“Failure to adhere to this direction may subject you to citation, arrest, and crowd control agents including but not limited to tear gas and impact weapons.”
Rioters were not discouraged by the threat of arrest and just before 10:00PM began resorting to violence and vandalism. Local police received reports that rioters had broken several windows in different buildings. Portland Police then declared the demonstration a riot saying:
“We have gotten reports of windows being broken in numerous buildings. The gathering has been declared a riot.“
The Portland Police quickly followed up this tweet by saying any participants that continue rioting will risk arrest:
“To those marching downtown: this has been declared a RIOT. All persons must immediately disperse to the NORTH. Failure to adhere to this order may subject you to arrest, citation, or crowd control agents, including, but not limited to tear gas and impact weapons.”
The rioters still carried on throughout the night. According to police there is extensive damage to multiple buildings. Three lit flares were thrown into the Oregon Historical Society after rioters smashed the building’s windows in. As if that wasn’t enough the rioters wrote “F*ck history” on the destroyed building.
Rioters wrote deplorable messages across the city. The phrases “All Cops Are Bastards” and “End America” can be seen written throughout downtown in spray paint.
Portland State University Campus Public Safety office also suffered property damage after windows were broken.
In a statement by the Portland Police Bureau on Monday the bureau claimed that rioters planned to “engage in criminal behavior” long before attending the protest:
“A published advertisement for the event (photo) indicated it was a direct action where cameras, journalists, and live streamers were specifically excluded. This indicated that those attending were planning to engage in criminal behavior and were attempting to prevent the collection of video evidence that could be used to hold them accountable.”
The bureau continued:
“Many in the group were wearing all black, masks, body armor, helmets, and were carrying shields. At its peak the crowd numbered close to 300 people.”
The statement concluded by outlining the charges filed so far in relation to Sunday night’s riots:
- “Malik Muhamad, 23, of Portland – criminal mischief in the first degree (6 counts), riot, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm in public
- Justin Bowen, 25, of Portland — assault in the fourth Degree (2 counts), unlawful use of pepper spray
- Brandon Bartells, 38, of Washington — criminal mischief in the first degree, reckless endangering”
Portland Police say that there is still potential for more charges to be filed.
President Trump commented on the Portland riots claiming that the city government needs to call in federal assistance:
“Taking advantage of fools. Law & Order! Portland, call in the Feds!”
The President also demanded that rioters be held accountable for their destruction and put in jail:
“Put these animals in jail, now. The Radical Left only knows how to take advantage of very dumb “leadership” fools. This is Biden! Law & Order!”
