The air travel industry has been crushed by the coronavirus pandemic, and with experts projecting that business won’t fully recover for several years, European airplane manufacturer Airbus has joined the many other companies that have been forced to lay off workers. The company, which competes with Boeing to supply airlines with planes, announced in a statement on Tuesday that it will cut 15,000 jobs, or 10% of its workforce, over the next 12 months as a result of the pandemic.
