A person was transported to the hospital Friday morning after being shot by Grand Junction police near St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Little information was available about the shooting, which was reported by the Grand Junction Police Department at 10:14 a.m. on Twitter. No information was provided about the person who was shot, which the agency said was the suspect.

The shooting occurred at St. Mary’s Pavilion, which is east of the hospital and offers various medical treatments.

Officers were uninjured, according to a tweet from the police department.

The investigation will be handed over to a Critical Incident Response Team, said department spokeswoman Callie Berkson.

Critical Incident Response teams investigate when an officer fires their weapon and injures or kills someone.
