As “retaliation” for the lawsuit, Krieg mailed a pipe bomb addressed to Westland, intending to kill or injure him, court records state. But the pipe bomb exploded Sept. 6, 2017, at a post office at 901 E. Chicago Ave. It injured a postal worker, who was seven months pregnant at the time, who suffered minor injuries, officials said.
