Long Island restaurants open for Thanksgiving

After many of us downsized and even canceled our Thanksgiving celebrations last year, this may be the year we want to go out to celebrate. If you are eager for a change of scenery and would like to have a restaurant staff cook, serve and clean up your holiday meal, make reservation at one of the following establishments:

Nassau

Ben’s Kosher Deli will serve a $29.99 turkey dinner, $11.99 for kids, at its locations in Carle Place, Greenvale and Woodbury. Included are soup, a soft drink and dessert. Davenport Press (70 Main St., Mineola) has a three-course prix fixe at $54.95; $29.95 for kids. Among the appetizers are baked clams, rigatoni alla vodka and cream of turkey soup. In addition to roast turkey, entrees include prime rib, shrimp scampi, broiled salmon and chicken Parmigiana. Desserts include apple crisp, pecan pie, chocolate mousse. George Martin the Original (65 North Park Ave., Rockville Centre) will have a Thanksgiving prix fixe, with seatings from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Appetizers include corn and clam chowder, chopped salad, chili pop shrimp and butternut squash ravioli. In addition to roast turkey with trimmings, there will be short ribs with whipped potatoes; mustard and pretzel-crusted salmon; and filet mignon with creamed spinach and baked potatoes. Choices for dessert range from pumpkin pie to an ice cream sundae. The three-course meal is $59.95, with a “juniors” menu for children ages 10 and younger for $23. Havana Central (630 Old Country Rd., Garden City) offers a Thanksgiving prix fixe with a Cuban twist. For $49 per person, you’ll get a welcome drink (classic mojito or cranberry sangria), an appetizer (choice of empanadas, Caribbean chicken wings or avocado salad), an entree (mango habanero roast chicken, roast pork or ropa vieja) served with chorizo stuffing and cranberry orange salsa, and a side dish (Havana street corn, sweet potato fries or rice and beans). Limani (1043 Northern Blvd., Roslyn): On other days, the uspacle spot serves Mediterranean seafood in a luxe setting. But on Thanksgiving, it offers a traditional holiday prix fixe, consisting of corn chowder or butternut squash soup, glazed ham and turkey with stuffing served family-style, plus a selection of three sides, and either sweet potato or pumpkin pie. Prime 1024 (1024 Northern Blvd., Roslyn) has a special prix fixe menu for $95 per person, with service from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The four-course dinner includes choice of soup (butternut squash, creamy turkey, pumpkin lobster bisque), choice of appetizer (salad, meatballs, clams oreganata), family-style entree (turkey and stuffing, ham, pumpkin and sage ravioli), and choice of three sides for the table. Trattoria Diane (21 Bryant Ave, Roslyn) has an Italian-inflected three-course Thanksgiving prix fixe menu for $75 per person. In addition to butternut squash soup, maple-gazed turkey and apple pie, choices will include burrata with asparagus and cherry tomatoes; roasted figs with arugula and prosciutto; Tuscan pot roast with Parmesan mashed potatoes; and butternut squash ravioli with brown butter and sage. Volpe (7725 Jercho Tpk., Woodbury) at Fox Hollow features a special Thanksgiving dinner menu. Choose an entree, priced from $49 to $64, and you’ll also get butternut squash soup, salad, coffee, and dessert. Entrees include lobster ravioli, filet mignon, Chilean sea bass and roasted turkey. Danfords (25 E. Broadway, Port Jefferson) will welcome guests with a Thanksgiving meal for $60.95 per person. First course will be sweet potato bisque with crème fraîche, followed by a field greens salad with butternut squash, goat cheese and candied nuts. Mirabelle at Three Village Inn (150 Main St., Stony Brook) will be serving a buffet featuring Thanksgiving favorites, from 1-7 p.m. Appetizers will include shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, and charcuterie and cheese boards.
