Long Island man allegedly drives SUV into pair of Black

A man was arrested after allegedly driving his SUV into two Black Lives Matters protesters on Long Island Monday night, police said.

Anthony Cambareri, 36, is accused of striking the activists with a Toyota RAV4 at about 6:45 p.m. on Broadway in Huntington Station, cops said.

The two protesters were taken to Huntington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Cambareri, of Coram, Long Island, did not suffer any injuries during the incident.

He was charged with assault and given a desk appearance ticket.

A date for Cambareri’s arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip is pending.
