Illinois sets a new high for COVID-19 vaccinations, but case
count tops 4,000 for first time since late January 1

As of Thursday night, 1,808 people in Illinois were hospitalized with COVID-19, with 369 patients in intensive care units and 163 patients on ventilators. The seven-day average of total hospitalizations is 1,637, the highest since an average of 1,643 was recorded Feb. 20.
