Donald Trump Jr. has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in isolation, becoming the latest person closely associated with President Donald Trump to contract the virus.

The president’s son received a positive test result earlier in the week and is currently in quarantine, following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to prevent additional infections. The news was first reported by Bloomberg.

“Don tested positive at the start of the week and has been quarantining out at his cabin since the result,” a Trump Jr. spokesman was later quoted as saying by ABC’s Reena Roy, confirming the positive test result. “He’s been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended COVID-19 guidelines.”

Newsweek reached out to the Trump organization for comment.

A recent outbreak of COVID-19 has seen White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski and Trump legal aide David Bossie, among others, contract the virus.

Andrew Giuliani, the son for Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, was also reported to have tested positive and was experiencing “mild symptoms” on Friday.

The diagnosis prompted concerns that most or all of the president’s legal team could have also been exposed to the virus as they continue to attempt to overturn President-elect Joe Biden‘s election win.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
