Sunday’s end-of-day totals reported by California public heath websites added 22,141 new cases of the coronavirus in the state, bringing the total number of people who have been infected to 2,378,710.
There were also 93 new deaths reported in California, bringing the total number of people who have died in the state to 26,631.
An additional 493 patients were admitted into California hospitals, making for 22,003 hospitalizations statewide.
While ages 18 to 49 account for the majority of cases (70%), those ages 65 and older account for the majority of deaths (75%).
A majority of cases (55%) and deaths (47%) have occurred among Latinos.
