The Bay Area job market muscled up in October for its best hiring performance in several months — but with a fresh outbreak of coronavirus-linked business shutdowns underway in November, it’s unclear how long the boom will last.

The South Bay, San Francisco-San Mateo metro area, and the East Bay all powered to big job gains during October, according to a government report on Friday.

The Bay Area added 32,800 jobs during October, which marked its best one-month performance since June when the nine-county region added 109,000 jobs, an all-time record for a single month.

Santa Clara County gained 12,600 jobs during October, while the San Francisco-San Mateo region added 9,300 positions, and the East Bay added 7,400 jobs, government labor agency officials reported.

During October, Sonoma County added 2,300 jobs, while Marin County gained 900 positions, and Solano County added 500 jobs. Napa County was the only region that shed jobs in October, losing 200.
