Chris Cuomo’s wife Cristina opened up about her coronavirus battle on Thursday, describing the difficulties of isolating the illness and how she misses being able to hug her children.

“The only frustrating part is I can’t be there for my kids right now in the way they need me,” Cristina posted on Instagram, alongside a photo of her and the couple’s youngest, Carolina, at the beach.

“You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice.”

Her CNN-anchor hubby, 49, revealed that Cristina had tested positive for COVID-19 on his primetime show Wednesday, about two weeks after announcing his own diagnosis.

The mom-of-three said her symptoms began with a “seemingly sinus-related infection.” She also lost her sense of smell and taste, according to her husband.

Cristina, 50, a magazine editor, had been posting updates about her husband’s condition and treatment regimen on Instagram as the family quarantined at home, with Chris living in the basement.

He is still in isolation but has “no fever and [is] feeling better,” Cristina wrote.

Now that both parents are ailing, she said their three children, Bella, Mario and Carolina, have “grown up overnight” and are taking on more responsibility.

“Bella, our 17-year-old daughter, stepped up cleaning, doing laundry, cooking for her siblings and getting them situated with google classroom, and caregiving her mother and father, Mario, her assistant,” she wrote.

As grateful as she is for their help, she wrote that “I can’t wait to wrap my arms around them again.”

Bella, Mario and Carolina have grown up overnight—Bella, our 17-year-old daughter, stepped up cleaning, doing laundry, cooking for her siblings and getting them situated with google classroom, and caregiving her mother and father. Mario, her assistant. So much gratitude for them. I can’t wait to wrap my arms around them again. ♥️ ♥️♥️ I am committed to this naturopathic route more than ever. Support the immune system, not suppress it. Pooling anecdotal evidence and sharing methods for recovery are important. Why? Communication is all we’ve got right now. Please keep sharing your stories. It’s the only way we achieve freedom from fear. Staying strong is the battle.
