British newlyweds 90, 86 get COVID-19 vaccine 1

Newlyweds Geoff and Jenny Holland, 90 and 86 received their COVID-19 vaccinations on Monday, January 25 in the English town of Mansfield after testing positive for the virus in November.

The couple met about 18 months ago at a community centre, and got married during the pandemic, in August.

“I was married 65 years, nearly. Lost my partner to cancer, and I stuck it through three years, and I was so lonely, and met Jenny and that was it,” Geoff said.

“I always said I was not going to get married again. I always said ‘no, no I’m not.’ But along comes Geoff and changed all that,” Jenny, who lost two husbands, said.

The newlyweds tested positive for coronavirus in November but said they showed no symptoms.

On Monday, they received the vaccine and encouraged others to get it, too.
