The Colorado Open just added a trio of big names — even if fans won’t be able to see them.

With the stars perfectly aligned thanks to breaks in the LPGA, PGA Tour Champions and Denver Broncos schedules, the Colorado Open added Denver-area pros Jennifer Kupcho and Chris DiMarco as well as Broncos kicker Brandon McManus to its 156-golfer field.

Kupcho, an NCAA national champion who also won two state golf titles at Jefferson Academy, claimed her first professional victory in June at the CO Women’s Open. She will be the first Women’s Open champion and second female to play in tournament (Sherry Andonian was the first in 2016) when it begins July 23 at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.

DiMarco is best known for his duel with Tiger Woods in the 2005 Master’s — a tournament eventually won by Woods after his dramatic birdie chip-in on the par-3 16th. The Denver resident is currently 21st on the Charles Schwab Cup money list.

While McManus’ name may seem out of place, he currently carries a 2.2 handicap and is fresh off a 37th-place showing in the American Century celebrity tournament last weekend in Lake Tahoe. He is one of 25 amateurs currently entered in the tournament, which will award $100,000 to the top pro.

Unfortunately for golf fans, there will be no spectators at the event, due to the coronavirus. Fans can follow along by visiting ColoradoOpen.com.
