Three officers have reportedly been injured and one has died after a shooting Monday at an Amtrak station in Tucson, Arizona, according to local media reports.

The shooting was reported just after 8 a.m. at the downtown Amtrak station at 400 North Toole Avenue, Tucson. A spokesperson for Amtrak confirmed to Newsweek that the incident took place inside a New Orleans-bound train stopped at the station, and that no passengers or crew on board were injured.

“The Sunset Limited, Train 2, was traveling from Los Angeles to New Orleans, and arrived at the Tucson station at 7:40 a.m. local time. There are 137 passengers and 11 crew members, with all passengers and crew now evacuated to the station. There are no reported injuries to the crew or passengers. Law enforcement is on the scene,” the spokesperson said.

Police said one suspect has been detained and that the area was secured before 11 a.m. on Monday. The incident is now being investigated as an “officer involved shooting.” No further details have been released.

“The scene is secure. This is being investigated as an officer involved shooting. We are working with fellow agencies & medical personnel to confirm the extent of injuries. A media staging time/location is being set. Additional updates to follow,” the police department tweeted.

Traffic in the surrounding area at Toole Avenue between North Fourth and North Sixth avenues was closed to the public as police investigated the area early Monday morning.

Reporters shared footage of police cars, fire trucks and ambulances rushing to the scene on social media. One video appears to show a police officer rushing onto the train with a K-9 unit.

Newsweek contacted the Tucson Police Department for comment but did not hear back before publication.
