Another wild and crazy season of “The Masked Singer” came to an end Wednesday night on Fox and when the night began, three “characters” — Black Swan, Piglet and Chameleon — all had their eyes on the so-called Golden Mask trophy.
Only one creature could take it, though, and so the winner was …
Piglet!
But who was this masked porker? Not Cody Simpson, not Brian Littrell, not John Rzeznik or Adam Lambert … but Nick Lachey!
Oh, and if you’re wondering, Jenny McCarthy was the only judge to correctly guess that Piglet was the man who rose to fame as the lead singer of the multi-platinum-selling boyband 98 Degrees. And so she captured the Golden Ear trophy for the second consecutive season.
Second place went to the Black Swan who turned out to be JoJo.
Taking third place was Chameleon, who turned out to be rapper Wiz Khalifa.
Lachey, who revealed that he was a last-minute addition to the Season 5 cast, was clearly proud to hog the glory.
“Even if I hadn’t won, I’d be very proud of the work I did here and the performances I gave,” he said, doing his best to look dignified in his porcine garb. “But obviously, it feels a little better to take home the hardware.”
Here’s a look at the big unmasking:
