A police officer in a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas, has been hospitalized after being shot multiple times during a traffic stop.

The Burleson Police Department tweeted that the officer had stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Hillside Drive in Burleson at around 4.15 a.m. on Wednesday.

“During the traffic stop the officer was shot multiple times,” police said.

The officer was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, police added, and details about his condition were unknown.

No details were immediately provided about the suspect.

At 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, a Burleson Police officer made a traffic stop in the 1100-block is Hillside Drive. During the traffic stop the officer was shot multiple times. The officer was transported to John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth. His condition is unknown.
