A recent spike in COVID-19 infections has pushed South Africa into its second wave. Also, a number of prominent international activists and celebrities have demanded justice for protesters in Nigeria who were jailed for demonstrating against police brutality, and Spain’s former monarch, King Juan Carlos, has paid about $820,000 in back taxes, according to his lawyer.
