Portland Police Officer Jackson calls out hypocrisy in BLM

PORTLAND, OR – Unless one has been living under a rock since late-May, just about every major city has had some kind of protest (or protests) kick off since that time.

Portland, of course, has been having more than its fair share of said protests and riots – and a Portland Police officer who happens to be black recently called out the hypocrisy of these Black Lives Matter demonstrations.

Officer Jakhary Jackson from the Portland Police Department noted that when having to work during these very demonstrations in his city, he noticed a few things that threw him off.

One of the aspects that he thought odd was that, among the crowd of violent protesters, there were fewer minorities present than those actually among the police presence.

Not only did Officer Jackson catch wind of the disproportionate element representation – he also witnessed racist comments coming from the crowd trying to proclaim their adoration of black lives:

“It says something when you’re at a Black Lives Matter protest, you have more minorities on the police side than you have in a violent crowd and you have white people screaming at black officers: ‘You have the biggest nose I’ve ever seen.’”

During the clip that has made the rounds on Twitter, Officer Jackson explained that the very manner in which some of these crowds are operating are resembling the archetype of oppression used historically against black Americans:

“They don’t even know that the tactics they’re using, are the same tactics that were used against my people.”

The officer explained that every time he would attempt to have a sidebar conversation with a minority within the crowd of protesters, someone who would happen to be white from within the crowd interjects to stifle the dialogue:

“Every time I try to have a conversation with someone that looks like me, someone white comes up and tell them not to talk.”

Officer Jackson spoke about his experience with the protests, with the online clip lasting roughly five-minutes in length. In an ironic turn, comments coming from the far-left personalities online are actually admonishing the officer’s lived experience during the protests.

One Twitter user only managed to gather the following from the audio clip:

“This officer is basically condemning progressive left anti-fascists for being white.”

Anyone who took the time to listen to the clip itself could reasonably deduce that Officer Jackson was in fact not condemning anyone for “being white,” but was simply speculating on his dealings and observations of the protests that hosted a predominantly white majority that behaved as hypocrites.

The comments on the Twitter post from the PPD did well in baiting out those from the far left that dropped racist comments, with one user even saying that Officer Jackson was being used for his “tokenism”:

“I really feel like you thought you were doing something, but it turns out you weren’t :/ using a POC officer working at the protests just feels like tokenism and pandering.”

Another user responded to the comment alleging “tokenism” and called the comment out for what it was – racist:

“He’s a grown ass black man, speaking on his life experiences as a black man and you (a white girl) call him a token. He was speaking out against white racists like you. You just mad that he’s exposing your fake activism. White fascists co-opting [legitimate] movements.”

All throughout the comments on this video, those claiming to be for the cause of Black Lives Matter were proving that they only like certain black people that carry certain opinions.

At least there were those among the comments that were appreciative of the experiences Officer Jackson has endured over the past few weeks of riots and protests – and also voicing their disgust for those spewing racial pejoratives toward the officer for simply speaking his mind.
