A man was shot Friday by a police officer in Denver’s Barnum neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the area of West First Avenue and Perry Street, Denver police said on Twitter at 5:01 p.m.
There’s a large police presence in the neighborhood, and some streets are closed. One man has been taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound, police said. No officers were injured. An investigation is ongoing.
