The statewide rate Friday when measured on a seven-day average was 3.31 percent, a bit less than the previous day and the lowest since Dec. 2. In New York City, the rate dropped to 3.69 percent from 3.88 percent the day before.
Hospitalizations from COVID-19 across the state also fell Friday to 4,241, which Cuomo said was the lowest number since Dec. 3.
There were 57 COVID-19 deaths statewide including 32 among New York City residents.
A total of 11,669,171 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine doses have been given out in the state with 282,305 jabs done in the 24 hours from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon, Cuomo announced.
