The Browns announced Friday that star defensive end Myles Garrett was placed on the COVID-19/reserve list.
“This morning the Cleveland Browns were informed that a player has tested positive for COVID-19,” the team announced in a statement. “Contact tracing has been conducted and the individual has self-isolated. He has not been in the facility all week and zero high-risk contacts have been identified.”
The 24-year-old Garrett — one of the top defenders in the NFL — was sent home prior to Wednesday’s practice after reporting that he wasn’t feeling well. The Browns are still set to practice Friday before they host the Eagles on Sunday.
As part of the NFL and NFL Players Association intensive protocols, all meetings this morning will take place remotely.
In nine games so far this season, Garrett has accumulated 9 ½ sacks, 23 solo tackles and four forced fumbles.
