Mayor of Paterson, New Jersey tests positive for coronavirus 1

The mayor of Paterson, New Jersey said on Tuesday that he tested positive for the coronavirus.

Andre Sayegh said in a video posted on Facebook that he was tested for the virus last weekend.

“Today, receiving those results was somewhat sobering,” said Sayegh, who was wearing a face mask during the video.

“But I want to assure you that I don’t have a fever, and I’m not having any breathing issues,” he said.

“In fact, I feel fine. I’m a fighter — and I will fight this virus, this vicious, silent virus.”

The mayor added that for the past week he had been wearing face masks and gloves, along with practicing social distancing while out in public.
