COVID-19 measures remind
me: I never clean my keys

Re: “Coronavirus Q & A Part 1: Is food takeout OK? Am I immune? How do people die? Experts explain” (Mercurynews.com, March 24):

This article is very helpful and we learned that the virus can live up to three days on steel and plastic surfaces.

This reminds me that I never even think about cleaning my keys, which are used multiple times daily to start the car, unlock various doors, open the mailbox, etc.

And in-between these events, those keys essentially live in my pocket, along with a wallet, toothpicks, comb, hearing aid case, glasses case, money clip — and presumably a huge number of bugs, including COVID-19. And many people also keep those keys in a purse or on the kitchen counter.
