Because Mims is vaccinated, it’s possible he can return to the team in time to play against the Bills on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

According to the league’s COVID-19 protocols, as long as he doesn’t show any symptoms of the virus for 48 hours and he produces two negative tests at least 24 hours apart, Mims will be eligible to play Sunday.

This appears to be yet another setback to an eventful NFL career for Mims, but for all the wrong reasons.

After a disappointing rookie season was marred by a training camp hamstring injury that set him back, he caught only 23 passes for 357 yards in nine games in 2020.

Mims was slowed by a stomach virus this past offseason, which set him back in training camp and slowed his development in the team’s new offensive system. Mims has just seven catches for 129 yards in six games this season.
