“As we confront the twin tasks of recovery from the initial surge and prevention of a second wave, we recognize that the bulk of this work lies beyond the walls of hospitals,” the group writes in a letter sent to Cuomo, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D-Yonkers) and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D-Bronx). “We find it imperative to support housing rights organizers across the state in their call for legislative action to help New Yorkers stay in their homes.”
