A Fort Lupton High School student has tested positive for COVID-19, the Weld Re-8 School District announced on its Facebook page Wednesday morning.

The post says the student who tested positive was in the blue cohort at the high school, and all students in the blue cohort would be dismissed from school according to guidelines and guidance from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment.

The post did not indicate how many students are in the cohort, and phone messages left at Fort Lupton High School Wednesday morning were not immediately returned.

Parents and families were asked to pick up students at the front entrance of the high school if they are in need of transportation home.

The blue-cohort students will revert to remote learning for 14 days and return to school on Sept. 8.

Students in the white cohort will continue with in-person learning and all health and safety precautions will remain in place, the post indicated.
