Ex-Navy SEAL credited with killing bin Laden says mask-less
selfie was ‘a joke’ 1

The former Navy SEAL credited with killing Osama bin Laden said the mask-less selfie that got him banned from future Delta flights was just “a joke” — as he ripped the “left” for having zero sense of humor.

Robert O’Neill spoke out the viral photo on a Delta flight that he tweeted last week with the caption, “I’m not a p—y.”

“It was snack time on Delta Airlines,” O’Neill said Wednesday on the “Chris Salcedo Show.” “I thought it was, you know, kind of a joke.”

The 44-year-old veteran said he took the photo to point out the “hypocrisy” of the mask requirement on planes.

“I was thinking, if I can’t wear it while I’m drinking and eating, what if I’m drinking and eating the entire flight?” he said. “So I just snapped a quick selfie.”

O’Neill — who fired three fatal shots into the al Qaeda leader’s head during the May 2011 raid in Pakistan — also took a shot at liberals.

“There are certain things that are more religious than anything to the left, one of them being a mask,” he said. “You can’t joke about a mask, then the attacks come.”

Critics on Twitter took O’Neill’s selfie — which showed a masked man with a US Marine Corps hat on — as a dig at the older gentleman. But O’Neill said he didn’t even realize the guy was in the background of his photo.

“It was not a dig at the Marine Corps. I love the Marine Corps,” he said.

Delta swiftly banned O’Neill from future flights following the stunt.

He said he defended his actions, telling the airline, “It’s a peaceful protest. I’m protesting the hypocrisy of wearing a mask when I’m eating as opposed to when I’m not eating.”
