The deputy’s vehicle was parked in the 20th block of Vermijo Avenue, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. The deputy reported the theft to his supervisors at 3:42 a.m.
The deputy’s body-worn camera was stolen, along with nylon gear, his office-issued Glock 45 and two magazines of ammunition.
Sgt. Deborah Mynatt would not say Sunday whether the deputy left the vehicle unlocked. She said investigators are reviewing surveillance footage.
