Disturbing: Graffiti mural of cop hanging from noose
discovered after Houston protests 1

Houston, Texas – There’s been a myriad of instances of vandalism and graffiti that have cropped up during the protests that swept throughout the country.

But one vandalism case depicting a police officer hanging from a noose found on the side of a Houston tattoo shop is very telling of the sentiments of some of these vandals among the protesters.

The disturbing mural was said to be found along the side of the building of 290 Ink in Houston. Apparently, the owner of the tattoo parlor had painted over the alarming depiction of violence upon discovering the graffiti.

Houston Police Officers’ Union President Joe Gamaldi had a picture of the vandalism, and posted said image to Facebook with the following caption:

“We are better than this Houston. Also, the dirtbag who painted this didn’t even get our uniform shirt right.”

On the post, Gamaldi further noted that while portions of the population are emotional at this time, showcasing images of killing police officers does not meaningfully contribute to the national dialogoue:

“We realize emotions are running high, but this solves nothing and helps nothing. We are very thankful to the owner of this property, who after discovering this hateful graffiti, painted over it immediately. This image does not represent the view of 99.99% of Americans and we will not let hate run our city. We are #HoustonStrong.”

The police union president also mentioned within the post that if anyone has insight as to who might have painted the abhorrent depiction, to please reach out to their Facebook page via Messenger.

Texas in general has played host to some disturbing displays that have occurred due to the riots and protests that have broken out across the United States.

For instance, a man was critically injured on the evening of May 30th in the Dallas riots when he tried to defend a shop.

It was all caught on camera.  We should warn you – the video is incredibly graphic.

Witnesses say he tried to defend a shop with a large sword – and charged the rioters when the looters ran at him.

He was quickly overwhelmed.  They started savagely beating him with a skateboard and kicking him while he was down.

Then, the stoning began.

Elsewhere in the city, looters are breaking into stores and stealing safes.

A black man was pulled from his vehicle by rioters and beaten.

The mayhem comes just a day after the chief of police spoke face to face with rioters – warning them not to lay a finger on her officers.

Prior to the rioting, the Dallas Police Department issued a statement that said:

“The Dallas Police Department will not interfere with a lawful and peaceful assembly of any individuals or groups expressing their first amendment rights.

The Dallas Police Department will take enforcement action if any type of criminal offense is committed against any person or property.

Enforcement action will also be taken if any individuals or groups illegally impede traffic in the roadway.”

After violence erupted in the city, including against police, Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall spoke to a rioter, which was captured by Dallas Morning News reporter Obed Manuel in a video. The Chief said:

“We’re giving you the street, we’re giving you the sidewalk, we’re not asking you for anything, we’re not telling you to move. But don’t hit my folks. Don’t hit my folks. Okay? Somebody threw a rock at my officer. Don’t do that. Don’t do that.

“You guys can have the street, you can walk all night long. And we’re going to be out here to make sure nothing happens to you. But don’t hit my people.

“You’re destroying our property, we’re not going to let you do that.”
