There are signs of hope for big-screen film lovers. Slowly but surely more movie theaters are opening.

On Friday, Cinemark Movie Theaters announced that many of of its facilities in California are now open for business, including cineplexes in Danville, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Richmond and San Mateo.

Cinemark also said that, while their venues were closed for the coronavirus pandemic, that it adopted new standards for safety and sanitation.

“We have carefully planned for a safe return to movie-going with enhanced cleanliness, safety and training,” the company said in a statement.
