The Police Board also allowed into evidence a deposition given by the key witness, Angel De La Rosa, in a federal lawsuit filed by the alleged victims of the attack. The lawsuit against Burg and the off-duty officer involved, Chris Gofron, ended in 2012 with a $160,000 payout to the victims, court records show, and Gofron has since resigned from the Chicago Police Department.
