Candace Cameron Bure and her husband, Valeri Bure, passed the test.
The “Full House” star told Us Weekly her marriage was tested “in the best of ways” during quarantine because she and the retired NHL player were forced to spend more time together than ever before.
“I’ll be honest because we try. We both travel so much,” she said. “So we were like, ‘This might be the most amount of time we’ve actually spent together in years. This is either going to make us or break us.’ And you know what? It’s made us.”
Candace, 44, and Valeri, 46, have been married for 24 years. They share daughter Natasha, 22, and sons Lev, 20, and Maksim, 18.
The actress said the quality time allowed the couple to take a deeper look at their relationship.
“So many things are put in perspective just being at home, and then you talk through a lot of things and you realize, ‘What are the things we have to work on? What are the things that are working well?’” she said. “I’m really grateful that it’s the one thing that I can look at 2020 — as crazy as this year has been and difficult — and I’m so grateful for my family time because I’ve reevaluated my work schedule, the time that I’m away from my family, and realized that that was not a good balance for me.”
During quarantine, Candace and her husband faced some backlash for a picture she posted, in which her husband’s hand was resting on her T-shirt-covered chest.
The Hallmark star was not offended by the criticism, and said in her defense, “I love the fact that so many people had an opinion on it. It made me laugh because I wasn’t trying to make a statement. This is just how my husband and I are. You know, we adore each other and we still have fun and we’re spicy together.”
