Boston's Seaport Hotel will temporarily close due to the coronavirus pandemic 1

Boston’s Seaport Hotel will close Saturday due the coronavirus pandemic, the hotel posted on its website.

“As of today, there are no known cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) within the hotel or among our guests or team members,” hotel officials said in a statement. “We want to do our part in helping to potentially minimize the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).”

The closure includes the hotel’s TAMO Bistro + Bar, Aura restaurant, Wave Health & Fitness, and the Seaport Café. The Seaport Garage will remain open.

Fidelity will continue to provide health insurance and other benefits for the 400 furloughed Seaport Hotel and Seaport World Trade Center workers, who will return to their jobs after the month-long closure, a spokesperson told the Boston Business Journal.

The hotel will reopen April 22.
