Turner was fatally struck by gunfire on July 4, 2020, while riding in an SUV with her mother and a friend by the fast food restaurant where Brooks, a 27-year-old Black man, was fatally shot by Atlanta Police Officer Garrett Rolfe. Turner’s mother was attempting to turn her vehicle around when it passed a barricade set up by members of the Bloods gang, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said Friday at a news conference.
