Police responded to a weapons manufacturing facility in upstate New York on Wednesday after a person allegedly barricaded themselves inside the Army-owned building, reports said.

The incident unfolded at the Watervliet Arsenal near Albany but Watervliet police insisted the threat posed no danger to area residents.

“This incident is active and isolated within the confines of the Watervliet Arsenal,” police said.

Watervliet Arsenal Police and Troy Police also responded to the situation at the military site, which spans 143 acres and includes 72 buildings, officials tweeted.

“The arsenal is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations during the War of 1812,” according to the Army.
