Montauk fave Surf Lodge’s plans to reopen its Aspen outpost this year with Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s ABCV have been 86’d due to the “recent spike in COVID-19 cases.”

“We have made the difficult decision not to open,” owner Jayma Cardoso told us. “The health and safety of our employees and guests will always remain our top priority.” Instead, we’re told that Cardoso and chef Vongerichten — along with designer Brian Atwood and his husband, Dr. Jake Deutsch — got to try some of the scrapped menu’s dishes together at a socially distanced dinner.

We hear they plan to open again next winter.
