The Home Plate Project, in the second year of it’s initiative, is a partnership between Major League Baseball, Garth Brooks’ Teammates for Kids Foundation and Big League Impact. St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright founded Big League Impact in 2013 and he teamed up with Texas Rangers pitcher Kyle Gibson to help lead it. The nonprofit organization works with 80 MLB players to help meet basic human needs like food, clean water, medical care and shelter.
