The impact of the coronavirus pandemic continues to reach epic proportions as medical personnel are overwhelmed with 721,412 cases worldwide and 33,956 deaths.
Here in the U.S. there are now 141,854 cases and 2,475 deaths. New York tops the list with 59,648 cases, 965 deaths, New Jersey has 13,386 cases, 161 deaths, and here in California there are 6,204 and 131 deaths. President Donald Trump extended the social-distancing regulations until April 30.
Italy reported 756 new coronavirus deaths on Sunday bringing the total number of fatalities to 10,779 as it leads the world in deaths. Spain’s health ministry announced 838 new coronavirus deaths, the country’s highest daily jump in fatalities since the start of the epidemic, bringing its total to 6,528.
The coronavirus outbreak was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11. More than a quarter of the 7.8 billion people in the world are now living under some form of restrictions on their movement and social contact due to the coronavirus.
