By 1:30 p.m. on October 13th, law enforcement introduced the use of both K9 units and drones to assist in tracking down the wanted suspect. By around 4:00 p.m., police had located Ross.

Reports indicate that Ross had no intentions of going in quietly.

When investigators caught up with the suspect, he allegedly opened fire on officers – striking one officer in the leg and also shooting a police K9. Officers returned fire on Ross, which resulted in Ross dying from said sustained gunfire.

The officer shot in the leg was said to have only sustained a minor injury from the wound, but the status of the K9 is unclear at this time. The K9 has been reported as currently being treated by a veterinarian.

The original warrant that Ross was wanted on was said to have originated in Elkhart County, which those charges were for manufacturing methamphetamine at least 10 grams, possession of methamphetamine and carrying a handgun without a license.

CHICAGO, IL – woman, enraged that police dared to conduct a traffic stop, intentionally ran into three officers who had pulled over her friend.

The incident occurred on October 7th around 11am when police had affected a traffic stop on a man for what was described as a minor traffic violation.  When the officers were conducting the traffic stop in Fernwood, a woman appeared to take immediate issue that they dared pull over a friend of hers.

The woman, identified as Dawn Moore was driving by a traffic stop when she noticed that her friend was the one that was pulled over.  Moore pulled over to the side of the road and interfered with the officers, demanding that they release him.

The officers at the scene told Moore to leave the scene, most likely because she was interfering with their lawful duties.  Not to mention, where Moore parked her vehicle was blocking traffic.

Instead of leaving, Moore got back into her vehicle and allegedly intentionally struck a patrol vehicle, sideswiping it.  She then allegedly tried to run an officer over, and then made a U-turn and struck another police vehicle.  Moore then fled the scene.  Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Kellie Bartoli stated in an email:

“[Officers told] the [driver of] Jeep Wrangler to leave the area because she was obstructing traffic.  She then drove her 2020 Wrangler into a police squad car sideswiping it and attempted to run over an officer.

“The female driver than made a U-turn in the middle of the street and struck another police vehicle [from] which an officer was exiting.”

The three officers were injured during the encounter, and were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment for what is reported as non-life-threatening injuries.  Chicago Police did not advise what type of injuries the officers received from the incident.

Around 4:30pm, Chicago Police advise that Moore was seen driving in the area of South Elizabeth Street in Englewood.  Bartoli said that Moore “was observed driving the same vehicle that had been used.”

Moore was criminally charged with aggravated assault on three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, aggravated battery to an officer and criminal damage to property.

Regarding the traffic stop that started Moore on her alleged tirade, the male was pulled over for what police allege was a minor traffic violation.  He was not even cited by the police for the infraction.
